Op dat moment had ik het gevoel dat iedereen om me heen voor wegwerpluiers koos. Vrienden, familie, zelfs vreemden in het park. Het leek de voor de hand liggende keuze. Ik geef toe dat ik niet genoeg zelfvertrouwen had om iets anders te overwegen. Het idee om op te vallen deed me aarzelen. Wat als mensen me zouden veroordelen? Wat als ze zouden denken dat ik \u2018te anders\u2019 wilde zijn?       <\/p>\n\n<p>Maar iets aan wollen luiers bleef me dwarszitten. Ik vond het een prettig idee om iets natuurlijks, ademends en zacht voor de huid van mijn baby te gebruiken. Er waren zoveel voordelen die ik niet had verwacht: de duurzaamheid, de zachtheid, de gemoedsrust omdat ik wist dat het een milieuvriendelijke keuze was. Toch kon ik het gevoel dat ik een buitenstaander was niet van me afschudden. Ze vertelde hoe goed dat voor haar had gewerkt, hoe comfortabel haar baby zich leek te voelen en hoe blij ze was met haar beslissing. Het ging haar niet om opvallen, maar gewoon om doen wat het beste was voor haar gezin. Die gedachte bleef me bij en plotseling stond ik iets meer open voor het idee.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Uiteindelijk besloot ik het toch maar eens te proberen. Ik begon stilletjes wollen luiers te gebruiken, gewoon om te kijken hoe dat zou gaan. Ik voelde me nog niet klaar om mijn beslissing met iedereen te delen. Het is geen grote, gewaagde uitspraak. Het is gewoon een kleine, rustige beslissing die voor ons goed voelt. En hoewel ik het misschien niet van de daken schreeuw, ben ik zeker blij dat ik die kleine stap heb gezet.
