With Jovoh meets Mrs.BeAn you have the opportunity to choose the merino wool fabric directly from Anne’s shop. Anne is the owner of Mrs BeAn, and believe me, she has much more wool fabrics to offer than what Jovoh usually has in its portfolio. Lovely jacquard fabrics in different colours and patterns, wool jersey and wonderful sling fabrics. All made from plant dyed 100% organic merino wool.

How does it work?

  • You choose the wool fabric and lining, the type of closure (snaps or velcro) as well as the nappy size
  • Mrs. BeAn will send a package with all fabrics that were ordered during this action to Jovoh
  • We will sew your dream nappy and pack your order
  • Place your order between November 23rd and 27th
  • Processing time is with 3-4 weeks a little bit longer than usual, but worth it

You will get a little extra

All orders will receive 200 g of lanolin. Well, there is this one thing you need to know. Even lanolin, although it’s a natural product, has a best before date. This date is given by the manufacturer and guarantees that by this date the specific properties of the wool fat will not change. Think of consistency and color, for example. It does not go bad after this date and retains its wonderful properties for greasing wool covers. At the end of the day we have the choice to throw a good product that is fully functional away to give it to you. In terms of sustainability, the latter is somehow more logical. I hope you like it!

And, most important: If you place an order above 100€ and you will receive a 10€ discount coupon from Mrs.BeAn

General information

Jovoh wool covers are made either from pure organic wool or from a combination of organic wool and (organic) cotton fabrics. The snaps are attached in such a way that they do not touch the child’s skin. The cover must be combined with absorbing material (e.g., folding insert, prefold, or muslin nappy) and greased with wool fat (lanolin) before first use to get water-repellent. Since the wool fabrics from Mrs.BeAn are in their natural state, the wool covers do not need to be greased before they are used for the first time. The cover may also fit over compact absorbent nappies; however, it will probably not manage large and voluminous night nappies.

The outer fabric consists of 100% finest organic merino wool from Mrs.BeAn. The fabric is dyed with vegetable dyes and knitted or spun in Germany. The main dyes used are madder root, mignonette, indigo, yellowwood, logwood, and redwood. A wonderfully natural fabric whose components are sustainably obtained and processed. Wool nappies made of pure wool are soft, stretchable, and extra tight due to the two layers of wool. As outer fabric we use three different types: Single jersey is a very thin and filigree fabric, whereas Jacquard fabric is sewn in two layers and is hence a little bit thicker. The third option is a wonderful sling fabric. The cover is lined with either knitted wool, wool fleece, or fine boiled wool made of 100% organic merino wool.

Size guide

The wool cover is available in three sizes: Size 1 (ca. 4-7 kg), size 2 (ca. 7-12 kg) and size 3 (ca. 11-16 kg). Please note that the weight information of the sizes can only be an estimate, as the fit depends on the stature of the respective child.

The type of outer fabric also makes a difference on how the nappy fits. Wool covers made from stretchable fabric tend to adapt better to the child’s stature and are suitable for stronger children. According to experience, they also fit longer than covers made from non-stretchy fabrics (e.g., pure cotton) and this is especially important for newborns. Non-stretchy covers on the other hand are more likely to retain their shape and are recommended for slim children. If there are only a few but very absorbent inserts, wool covers made of non-stretchable fabrics are more suitable, as they give the nappy stability.
