Size guide, Multi-size system, Jovoh nappies

Jovoh’s multi-size system gives your baby the best possible fit at every stage of growth. Especially for newborns and petite babies, having dedicated sizes means less excess fabric around your baby, resulting in greater freedom of movement, and a slimmer fit under clothing.

Below you’ll find our recommended size guide to help you choose the right Jovoh wool nappy cover.

Size 1: Approx. 3-7 kg (Newborn)

Size 2: Approx. 7-12kg

Size 3: Approx. 11-16 kg

OneSize: Approx. 7-16 kg (please read the description below)

We carefully coordinate our cover sizes to ensure a smooth transition as your baby grows. During the transition between weight ranges, most babies can comfortably wear either the smaller or the larger size. This allows you to choose the best fit based on your baby’s individual build and the absorbency you’re using.

How to use this size guide

Weight is a helpful guideline, but it isn’t the only factor. Babies of the same weight can have very different proportions. The following can also help determine the best fit:

  • Body shape: Slim babies may stay in a size longer, while babies with chunkier thighs or a fuller tummy may benefit from sizing up sooner.
  • Rise: The cover should comfortably reach the desired height without feeling too short or overly high.
  • Leg fit: The leg openings should fit snugly without leaving deep pressure marks.
  • Absorbency: Bulkier fitted nappies or additional boosters can make sizing up the better choice.
  • Freedom of movement: A well-fitting cover should allow your baby to move freely without unnecessary bulk.

Size 1 (newborn)

The best newborn wool nappy

Size 1 (Newborn) includes adjustable front reduction snaps, allowing you to shorten the rise for a snug fit on even the tiniest newborns from under 3 kg.

For the smallest fit, fasten the reduction snaps before putting the cover on your baby. As your baby grows, leave the snaps undone to increase the rise and continue using the cover comfortably throughout the Size 1 weight range.

Start with the reduced rise if the cover sits too high or there is excess fabric around your baby’s waist. Learn more about the use of the buttons via the link below.

Size 2 and Size 3

As babies grow, they don’t suddenly change from one size to the next overnight. That’s why Size 2 was designed as the perfect bridge between our newborn cover and the larger Size 3. An additional waist snap on the front wing allows for a smaller waist setting, making it especially helpful for babies who have just outgrown Size 1.

Once your baby needs more room overall, Size 3 is the next step. It is larger than Size 2 in every dimension, providing extra space for growing babies while maintaining the same comfortable fit you know from the smaller sizes.

Onesize

Our OneSize cover is based on the pattern of our Size 3 cover and features adjustable front rise snaps to shorten the rise for smaller babies.

Because it is based on our largest cover, it cannot provide the same tailored fit as our multi-size system. The rise can be shortened, but the overall width and shape remain the same, so it may still be too large for very small, slim or petite babies.

We created the OneSize cover exclusively for our Cotton-Wool Nappies after many customers requested a OneSize option. It is best suited to babies who have outgrown the newborn stage and have an average to sturdier build. For slim or petite children, our Size 2 cover will provide a noticeably better fit.
